Some days I feel like the queen of the elementary concept, and today is no different.

As I was thinking about how to increase website conversion as part of an internet marketing strategy I kept thinking about websites I visit that simply bore me. Beyond the look and feel, I am a word person, a content person.

I try and let our clients and readers know when something important and relevant to Internet Marketing is happening and today is one of those days. Yahoo bought Tumblr, a major online blogging software company, for $1.1 BILLION.  Once again an internet company has sold for a lot of money and some say it might be too much.  You think?  The reason this is significant is because it's a blogging company and Yahoo is investing heavily because they believe it will be good for their business.  The fact is that blogging is becoming more and more popular and as an industry is maturing quickly.  So, Why Blog? You should blog in your business because it works and the Yahoo acquisition is evidence of the value of blogging.

Just over a year ago the world was introduced to Google Glass, an augmented reality pair of glasses that seemed to be something only possible in science fiction. I remember watching the following video and getting a funny feeling deep down inside. I probably brushed it off as bad Chinese food at the time, but now I know that it was the strange feeling of what was once only possibility becoming reality.

More than ever before good questions are the life blood of leading a succesful company.  One of those questions that you must ask on a regular basis is, "why is social media important for reaching new customers?" Every company wants new customers and every company wants those customers to become loyal customers. Social media is the only place I know of that allows you to listen to people talking about their lives, their likes and their dislikes, unrestricted, without ever having to go anywhere!  That is why internet marketing is so powerful when done holistically. 

Anyone who has a website or an online business should have some type of SEO tool. This will help you track a variety of different metrics and key components of your site. An SEO tool will help keep an eye on the big picture of your website performance as well as make it easier to manage your internet marketing efforts.

Most internet marketing tactics for increasing your website conversion are technical and advanced, however there is a simple way you can help increase website conversion. Give your customers what they are asking for. Sounds way too easy right? However, even though this “give them what they want” approach seems obvious, many businesses fail to accomplish it. We believe the key to giving your customers what they are asking for is with relevant content.

I am writing this blog on my 20^th anniversary “get-away” weekend from beautiful Lake Tahoe, California so it will be short and sweet!
