Using these tips to learn how to increase sales through customer service will not only help your sales, but is cost effective as well. It is cheaper to keep an existing customer than to gain a new one. So you should focus on delighting your current customer to keep them coming back for more by:

Create a Referral Program

Referral programs are great incentives to create word-of-mouth chatter about your business while giving your business the opportunity to gain a new customer. These engage your current customers to actively promote your business so they gain the incentive that you choose. This is a win-win!

Collect Feedback

Product and service creation, adaptation and more can be taken from customer feedback. Doing this also shows your customer that you care about what they think and that you want to better their experiences. This will help maintain a flow of new ideas for your business. Collecting customer feedback will help nurture a trusting relationship, while getting to know your customer more can help increase sales.

Keep Staff Trained

In order to give great customer service, your staff must be trained to give this service. Make sure that your staff are well knowledgeable on your products, services, company history and anything else that they may need to know in order to answer basic questions from customers. You want your customer’s experience to be unforgettable, but in a good way.


This is the act of offering a product or service to a customer in addition to selling another item. But these additional products must be relevant and satisfy the customer’s needs. If your company is selling a new computer to a customer, a logical cross-selling item would be computer software, accessories or coverage for damages. Cross-selling is a great way to increase sales while helping the customer.

Gaining trust from your customers is crucial to maintain relationships that will help you increase sales for your business. As consumers we like to purchase products and services from companies that we trust. We must feel supported and understood by the staff that we are talking to, trust the product or service we are purchasing, and be confident our friends would feel the same if we referred them.
