    why blog? Great question!If your company is thinking about blogging then it is very important that you understand why you should and shouldn't start blogging for business. In all honesty I tried to think of 5 reasons you wouldn't want to blog, and it was hard! Blogging does so much for an internet marketing strategy, and that is one of the reasons we always insist our clients include a blog on their website. Here is our version of 5 reasons why you shouldn't blog for business.

     

     

    5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Blog for Business

    1. You Want Less Traffic to Your Site

      Having a blog on your website can be one of the most beneficial things you can do for your company. Creating blog content that covers your services, or related topics to your business brings more traffic to your website. Why blog for traffic? Traffic is the number of people who are finding your site, and visiting it. Without blogging it is extremely hard to get traffic to your website. In fact, Google loves blogs, and if they see your blog as relevant content you will get even more traffic.         2. You Want Visitors Who Will Never Spend Money

          Each blog you write is giving Google and other search engines more information about your company, and ultimately what type of people you want visiting your site. Think about it this way, your blog is like a sales team. A blog can qualify prospective customers, weed out people who won’t turn into customers, and can even close the deal for you. Only your blog has one big advantage over a traditional sales team, it can actually bring people to you. There is no cold calling, or old school sales tactics needed and that’s why a blog is so important.   

            3. You Don’t Have Anything Valuable to Talk About

              Why blog about relevant topics to your industry? Because it can bring people who are asking questions about your business, products, services, and industry to you.

              Here’s how it works:

              Step 1: You write a blog answering a question about your company

              Step 2: Someone searches, and asks a question that relates to the blog you wrote

              Step 3: Google puts your website’s blog article in front of the searcher

              Step 4: The searcher clicks on your blog article and reads it

              Step 5: The searcher finds your article valuable and decides to sign up for your newsletter, or they contact you for services! 

              It is important to remember that other people probably don’t know what you know about your business, services, or industry. So, don’t write off what you know as boring or not important to write about, that information might be exactly what someone is looking for. You are the expert, and you have information to offer. If you don’t blog then people have no way to learn about your company or find you unless it is by word of mouth or other traditional marketing. So if you don’t want to look like an expert, then don’t blog.

                4. You Like When Competing Companies Are Beating You On Google

                  So, your friends with your competitor? Well, don’t blog, because they might get mad when you pass them up and dominate the search results for your industry, and you wouldn’t want that. Not having a blog on your website is like being in a race with a competing company and in about lap 1 of 5 you just stop and start stretching as they run on by. Why blog if your competitors aren’t blogging? Put plainly, so you can blow them out of the water. There are only 10 positions on the first page of search results. If you write blogs that are relevant and follow good blogging rules then it is likely you will start filling positions and knocking competing companies off the page.

                  Still want to be nice to your competition? Then don’t blog.

                    5. You Don’t Want More Customers

                      If your happy with how many customers you have, and don’t want to make more money then definitely don’t blog. Blogging will bring you more visits to your website and when done right will bring a steady flow of new customers to your business. Why blog? That's easy, because it can bring you more customers!

                       

                      I told you it was hard to think of reasons why you shouldn't blog. Doesn't it make sense though? Look at all these reasons a blog would help your business grow, why wouldn't you blog?
