Alright, here’s the answer: Your website can be absolutely beautiful visually but if you don’t have anything to grab your visitor's and convert them into leads, your website is completely useless. Are you about to freak out? Are you realizing that what I just described sounds a lot like your website? Don’t worry! This is a quick fix and it’s one you need to make ASAP in order to take full advantage of your website!
I’m so glad you asked! They're a couple things you can do, but they all include a similar aspect—including a form so that you can gather information.
You want forms on your website for many reasons, including the following:
They're many places that you should be putting call-to-action buttons [buttons that lead to the form submission pages, also known as a landing page] but there are a few places where they definitely should be.
I could go on and on and get more analytical about the process but instead I think reading this blog post would be a good idea. Once you start thinking about it you’re going to wonder why you never had forms on your site in the first place. Without them, there’s no way to see if the same people are continually coming back to your website, there’s no way to get their contact information, you can’t watch the sales conversion process take place, etc.
Test, test and test again. You are never done testing your call-to-action buttons on your website. Yes, I know..this sounds a little scary but do you want a good website? Then listen up and accept the fact this is something you must do! Testing will help to increase the effectiveness of your website and business as a whole. With technology and industry upgrades things are always changing and you need to be changing with it. Plus, sometimes changes aren’t even a huge deal; it could be changing the colors or font—not too bad, right?
Starting out, I would suggest first creating a form where people subscribe to your blog and then build out from there with landing pages that include forms for service requests, contact requests and downloadable offers such as white papers and eBooks.
