Finding Inspiration In All the Right Places for Your Business Culture

Business_man_jumping_with_a_golf_club_finding_inspirationWe all love to be inspired. It is in our nature as human beings. We want to have that fire in our being that give us the motivation to do better and to be better. I am going to give you an example to show how you too can inspire your employees within your business culture. But how do we create that spark in other people? Where do we find this inspiration? The answer is simple. Inspiration can be found everywhere.

Picture yourself on the green of a golf course. Feel the cool breeze on you as you hear the bullfrogs in the nearby manmade lake. You tighten your grip on your putter to practice your putt, and you happen to miss every attempt that you make. Frustration builds as the feeling of defeat creeps closer to where you stand. Thankfully you have your faithful Bagger Vance with you. Connecting with the green with his bare feet may feel right for any caddy. His advice is even more crucial than carrying your clubs.

In this moment, you are taught about how the green changes as the position of the sun moves across the sky. The grass points towards the sun. The sun is like a magnet that the grass is attracted to. The green is always changing. Your trusty caddy then imparts to you about your authentic swing. Everybody has their true authentic swing that only you and you alone have. Nobody in this world can have the same swing as your authentic swing. With the craziness of our world we sometimes forget about our authentic swing. We can even forget how that swing feels. But our authentic swing can’t be taught nor is it learned. Your swing makes you feels right in this world. Your swing makes you feel whole.

When you close your eyes and focus on your swing, you finally hit the sweet spot of the golf ball and it dances across the green and finds its home in the hole. You have found your authentic swing. The Legend of Bagger Vance shows us how tackling the challenge of mastering your golf swing is the same way you should face any challenge of your life.

But what is your authentic swing? This is the piece of you that is unlike any other and what helps us make our decisions in the actions that we take. As a business owner, you chose to start a business trusting your authentic swing. You had an idea for a product or service that you knew would help others. When you walk into work every day knowing your authentic swing, your employees see it. They thrive off of it. This drives your passion in your business and passion is contagious. Just like love and kindness, your passion can spread to your employees through the business culture. Don’t just talk the talk but walk the walk. Be your employees’ caddy and be willing to show them the inspiration they need to find their own authentic swing.

When this happens, you will find your business in a place that is provisionally fruitful and bursting at the seams with passion. Be the magnet for your customers to attract to. Give people the inspiration to be better versions of themselves with your product or service.

Inspire people who work around you to be better. Look at your employees and show them what can be. Show them what you see for your business. Hold out your hand to have them join you on the journey of growth and happiness. Inspiration gives motivation to go beyond the mundane tasks. This is what your business culture needs to reach its potential. Whether it be writing a handwritten note giving thanks for a job well done or giving a presentation on what your goals for the company are, inspiration can be given to your employees in many different forms. Just remember, inspiration is what humans need to reach our potential. Hold on to the inspiration within yourself and help others find their inspiration.
