87326302Naturally, every single business owner would like to see more leads close and turn into customers. However, the reality is that it’s a tough feat nowadays with all of the options that consumers have. The way to close more leads and become a more successful small business full of passion and provision is to build trust and establish relationships by using an inbound marketing strategy.

Put yourself in their shoes. When you are choosing a business for a service or product do you want that business to understand you and try to build a relationship with you? Do you want them to be a business you can trust?

Yes and yes! Studies have shown that more people will choose to purchase from a company because they feel like they understand them, or really care about them. It pays to get personal with your marketing. That’s why inbound marketing can be the ticket to helping make your business successful.

In order to apply the right lead nurturing you first need to know where your persona is in the buyer’s journey.

Here are two ways that inbound marketing helps to do this:

Email marketing

Inbound marketing uses email marketing strategies as a way to nurture relationships with leads and customers. Email marketing helps to establish repor and continue a relationship with potential customers.

Leads nurtured with targeted content produce an increase in sales opportunities of more than 20%, according to HubSpot.

We’re not just talking about any old email being sent out. We are talking about emails that are personalized to the content that your lead is interested in. For example, if your lead has been reading certain blogs on your site or continually downloading specific offers, they will get an email that will offer more information on that topic or discuss pushbacks.

Personalization

When you know more about your audience and can present them with customized, personalized marketing content they will be more likely to enjoy your brand, feel valued and make the process easier for them.

With inbound marketing you can have personalization on your website. For example, when a lead who has been on your website before comes back to download another ebook or checklist, their information is saved so that they don’t have to re-enter information.

Can you imagine how awesome that would be if you come back to a website and your information was still there for you and they said “hello, your name” when you arrived. How personal! How cool!

As always, be “inbound” about it. Meaning, don’t be spammy or intrusive about your marketing techniques. Getting personal and nurturing your leads is a great way to close and increase sales, however it must be done right and with genuine care.
