video girlVideos can be a powerful part of what makes a good website. They can help your website quickly inform and entertain visitors, as well as speed up the buying process.

The two types of videos we’re going to discuss today are whiteboard animation videos and humorous videos. These are two very different types of videos but they can accomplish the same goal. If you implement at least one of these videos on a blog or your site you will see how it impacts the user in a positive way. You can track this by your “visitor time on site” statistic. Videos will help keep people’s attention and give them something they can interact with.

Video is something that should be worked into your internet marketing plan for your website. Google has said that websites that have video on them are more likely to gather brownie points resulting in better SERP rankings.

So, now that you know the importance of videos lets discover two types of videos that in my opinion are the most attractive and useful for keeping a visitor’s attention while informing them on your site.

Whiteboard Animation Videos

These videos are designed to keep your visitor’s attention with quick drawings and video frame transitions. They are great for telling simple or complex stories. They can be used to inform your visitors of the perks your service or product offers in a very visually stimulating way. If you’re wondering what makes a good website, you can count on one of these videos doing just the job!

Take a look at a whiteboard animation video example below.

Can you see how fast a few minutes can go by watching these videos? They’re addicting! For some reason watching someone draw on a whiteboard and seeing something come to life before your eyes is so intriguing.

Here are a couple of websites you can check out if you would like to start implementing whiteboard animation into your website:

Videos That Make You Laugh!

The second type of videos we will discuss are simple, funny videos. Music videos and videos that make you laugh are two categories taking up the majority of YouTube video views and are more likely to go viral than any other type of video..

Now these videos don’t have to be crude by any means or use inappropriate humor. They can just be real life situations that happen to humans told in a video style that makes the viewer laugh while keeping your message relative to your website’s theme.

Funny videos are definitely a component of what makes a good website. Take a look at this video from Dollar Shave Club. It’s realistic, addresses real problems and does a fantastic job at describing their product and how you could benefit from using it.

What Now?

Now is the time you get to decide: what video sample shown above would work best on your website? Is it a whiteboard animation video or a video that would make people laugh while informing them about your product or service?

Here are some tips to help you make your decision:

  • If you have a complex product or service, use whiteboard videos.
  • If you have a product that the majority of the public can benefit from, use funny videos.
  • If your company has a niche service that it caters to, you could possibly use both types to reach those who are already familiar with your product and those who need to be informed of why they should buy your product.

Don’t Forget To Have Fun

With both of these video types it’s important to remember to have fun. If you’re having fun it will reflect in your video.

When done right videos are just one of many solutions you can’t go wrong with. Give it a shot and let us know how it works for you! You can also check out some of our other blog topics below for other ideas about what makes a good website.
